Amy Johnson
As the original birthplace of snowboarding, Vermont continues to pump out quality riders who routinely take the podiums in the world's most critical competitions. Although born in Rochester, New York, Amy Johnson sharpened her snowboarding skills on the mountains of Vermont, calling Stratton home for much of her early career. Best known for her Boardercross success, Amy was the 1999 National Snowboarding Cross Champion and placed third in the 2000 U.S. Open Boardercross. In the 2001 U.S. Open, she placed third in Boardercross and eighth in the pipe competition. Amy has also made impressive appearances at the Triple Crown series, the U.S. Grand Prix, Bud Light Boardercross, the American Snowboard Tour FIS World Cup, and the Swatch Boardercross Tour. Her current overall rankings include: tenth in ISF Boardercross, second in FIS Boardercross, and tenth in ISF Halfpipe.
Never one to sit back and coast, Amy is always working on a new trick to add to her already impressive resume. "I'm currently working on McTwists in the pipe and 720s. I'm also trying to stick backside rodeos."
