SGMAG.COM SKATE
Third-Annual Strawberry Bash Is Sweet

Nicole Zuck

Finally they started the pro division at about 5 p.m. as the sun was going down. We had smoke bombs going off and Arkham rocking it on the side of the pool. The lights kicked on and we saw how this graffiti-ed pool was really meant to be skated. Chris Sean took first, followed by Steve Bailey, and Mark Partain grabbed third. The Strawberry Bash hottie of the day goes to Dave Reul of the Skatanic Rednecks--I guess he's won this contest the last two years. He skated like he should have taken it again. Too bad for me he was sandwiched in-between two game-ruining blond twins all night!

The party moved inside the old bar after the awards were given out--we barely all fit, and of course they turned off the lights and closed the bar on us at midnight. I guess we were more than these backwoods folks could handle. That was probably better, as Jessie and Jen from Nikita and I we were pretty buzzed from sneaking Pabst Blue Ribbons around the pool all day. So it was off to my "European-style" room (i.e., with no bathroom) to roll out the sleeping bag I was crashing on the floor in. Thank you, Heckler, for a great weekend. Strawberry Bash--we'll be back in 2004.
