As scary and hardcore as Andrew W.K. looks on the cover of his latest album, The Wolf, he surprises the masses with a gentle touch. The record is filled with a dynamic, symphony-esque rock medley that sounds as if Metallica’s S ‘n’ M (Symphony ‘n’ Metallica) and The Misfit’s Glenn Danzig composed an album together. With three guitarists, one bassist, keyboards, piano, and percussion, Andrew W.K. and his crew bring to life music that will get you ready for a surf or skate session, just like the “Eye of the Tiger” did for Rocky. It’s so easy to get amped while listening to A.W.K. that you’ll want to gulp down some raw eggs and protein mix for breakfast. Mmm, breakfast of champions.
